I'm using Windows 7

Kinovea sees my Hauppauge Videocard, but not my Sony camcorder hdr-cx280

My camcorder is connected to the Haupauge Colossus Videocard by HDMI

I can see live footage in WinTV ( comes with Haupauge), but not in Kinovea.

Can someone help me please?!

I am having a similar problem.

I am using a Sony DCR-HC1000E and Kinovea is not recognising it: It does not show up as an available camcorder in the "select source" button. I have had a good look around the software and can not see a method of manually setting up the camera to work with Kinovea.

Any suggestions? Is this a bug?

System I am using is:

Apple iMac (2007) with Windows 7 Home 32bit. I run windows in Bootcamp.
A Firewire (IEEE1394) connection.
Sony DCR-HC1000E camcorder.

The camcorder is present in the "Device" section of Windows and I can get the camcorder working with the Sony specific software.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated as working directly form Kinovea will be vastly beneficial then having to record on 3rd party program.

Cheers

@wumastah: Apparently there was an issue related to TV Capture cards recently fixed in the AForge library (that Kinovea uses to support DirectShow cameras). I'll try to integrate this for the next version.

@SteelAl: if you use the experimental version, try to get the log and send it by mail.
I do most of DirectShow testing with a Sony DCR-HC47 so it should definitely work.
