Topic: Using camera on Surface Pro

I'm trying to use a Surface Pro to record video and analyse with Kinovea. The rear camera won't work- says i need to try again with different format. Has anyone else had issues with this?

Re: Using camera on Surface Pro

Which version of Kinovea? Can you try with 0.8.25? Do you see the camera thumbnail?

Re: Using camera on Surface Pro

We are having the same issue on V0.8.25
You can see the camera thumbnail, but when you try to capture the video is when you get the error.
This only seems to affect the back camera, the front-facing camera functions fine.

What is the error exactly ? Error message saying to try a different format? Black screen? Can you open the camera settings dialog? Can you change the stream format? What is the list of stream formats? Can you paste what the header bar is displaying above the camera screen?

Re: Using camera on Surface Pro

When the rear-facing camera is selected, the default format (2592x1944 px@ 2 fps) is very laggy, and then when you hit the record button, it launches a dialog box that says: "Kinovea - Unable to Save Video" "Unable to save video. Try again with a different format." We tried with different formats, and many of them result in the same, or allow recording but in a laggy manner. The smaller px work well, up to 848x480 px @ 30 fps, but then start performing poorly or not at all after that. (will send to forum admin for reference, but app could be used in the meantime with adjustments made)
