Adjusting ROI(Region of Interest) to Increase FPS not working

I've managed to get a Huateng Vision camera working ok in Kinovea using the GenICam
One thing I can't get to work is adjust the ROI (Region of Interest) to increase the frame rate.
Normally if I half the V access it doubles the frame rate. In the Huateng Vision app I can set the ROI, but when I open Kinovea the camera doesn't work with the adjusted ROI. If I default the camera back to normal full resolution it works again.
The Camera Config screen for the camera in Kinovea has nothing under the drop downs for Stream Format, Image Size or Framerate- only Gain has a slider. You have to click on the Device property pages.
When you go into that screen there is no option for ROI.

The camera is a HT-SUA33GM-T1V it only 640*480 at 790fps. Yuo can go over 1000fps if you adjust the ROI.

I am a graduate student specializing in biomechanics. I want to process a video of a rowing motion performed on a dynamometer. I recorded it using a 4k 60fps mobile camera. However, when performing joint angle tracking in Kinovea 25.1 version, the tracking points would move erratically. I have tried using fluorescent markers and large-diameter reflective balls, but still encountered incorrect tracking paths. Is there any expert who can help me solve this? I now suspect it might be due to the shooting method. Do I necessarily need to use a camera?

Hi,

I am trying to get my EVT cameras to work in Kinovea and have hit a snag.

Kinovea successfully loads the Emergent CTI, the Emergent system is enumerated, Both EVT NIC interfaces appear, and Both EVT cameras appear in the list.

As soon as I double-click one of the EVT cameras to open the stream, Kinovea immediately crashes and exits before any subsequent log entries are written.

Understanding EVT is not a supported camera, would love any ideas to possibly get them working. Thank you!!

I was trying to develop a plugin for a new model of camera, and I wanted to modify and test on top of the original plugin, so I did the following:
1. Download the latest plugin, from here: https://www.kinovea.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2005.
2.
Flir Blackfly w GenICam Issues

I'm using a Flir Blackfly S BFS-U3-16S2M-CS with Kinovea 2024.1 and the GenICam plugin 1.1.0. I'm able to get the camera's max 226 fps which is great!

Two issues I noticed:
1) In the camera/GenICam settings within Kinovea, I can lower resolution but I cannot adjust any offset. I am able to adjust resolution with offset with Spinnaker SpinView, however this doesn't then show up in Kinovea. Any advice or path to get this working?
2) When I play back the recordings from Kinovea, they play back in "slow motion" and require specifying the capture frame rate. If I'm playing a replay folder observer, this has to be set with every video played?

Thanks!

Processing images from generic GigE cam under CODESYS PLC

In the current project, we've used ordinary CCTV IPC cameras and a PLC to provide triggers to start/stop recording. The camera directly writes a video clip to the NAS. But now, the customer wants to replace expensive CCTV cameras with cheaper ones that are used for machine vision. So, I would like to avoid adding some additional computer for video processing and storing images on the NAS. Can images be processed from a generic GigE cam under CODESYS PLC? I saw a lot of different C/C++ SDKs from various vendors, but I'm not sure they can be imported into the CODESYS project. I don't need to do complicated video processing. I just have to save a series of images on some shared network resource. Is it possible in general? I've tried to google it, but I wasted a few days. Geometry Dash Lite

Hi,

I have a view cheap 'GoPro style' camera from ApexCam which I hope to use for some underwater filming - it came with a waterproof case.

I can connect my laptop to the camera through built in WiFi network. I have discovered the URL of the RTSP stream and I can create a network stream in VLC but when I try to create an IP camera directly in Kinovea it does not recognize the stream.

Is there a way to use RTSP URLs in Kinovea?

The stream URL is:

rtsp://192.72.1.1:554/liveRTSP/av4/track0

VLC shows that the codec it is using is H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)

I did a search on the forum but couldn't find the answer, sorry it has been discussed before!

Mike

Low cost cameras with GenICam support?

The interweb is flooded with "low cost" webcameras. There is also the cheap arducams/raspberry pi cams (but not with USB interface).

Are there any similar options that support GenICam or is that exclusive to the "machine vision" cameras that typically cost quite a bit more (and are hardish to get at least in Europe).

If not, are there "low cost" cameras that have their own drivers (as opposed to UVC) that enables control of resolution/exposure etc through for instance Python.
