Presumably you are using a camera with higher resolution or higher framerate, hence less images fit in the allocated memory.

in earlier versions I was able to set a higher delay time in capture screen, now it seems to be limited to 4.48sec. It would be great if this could be reestablished to 30-40sec.

I used to work with Kinovea capture screen without recording anything, just setting a delay time of 40s, performing some movements in front of the camera and being able to review those movements instantly.
