Check in this topic for the logs location, it depends if you are under Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.
(Or you can just type %appdata%\Kinovea in the address bar of Windows file explorer, works everywhere).

Oké. I did my homework again.

In the header from the message it say's: Cann't saved record.
If I closed the capture window and reopen it, the problem occurs the same. So Kinovea doesn't need to restart.
After clicking down the errrorfield I get the message "not connected".
But the film is recorded!! and can be played back.

P.S. Where can I find the logfile?

Nice to hear from you.

Ah, an HDMI capture card… nice

Regarding the cause of error, there might be a few more lines in the log. (several errors can yield this message, but the log may have the specifics).
Please open the log right after the issue (before restarting Kinovea) and post the relevant lines here.

Then you say Kinovea needs to be restarted ? Hmm, not good. What is happening exactly ? The interface is frozen ? Would you be able to close the capture screen and open it again ?

Hi Joan,

Compliments for the new version :cool

I'm testing the option to capture with HD format. There for I use a Canon Legria HF 31 camera with HDMI output. In de PC a placed the Intensity Pro from Black Magic.
In Media Express the setup say's Video Format: HD 1080i 50 and this works.
Kinovea sees the camera as"Decklink Video Capture"
Configuration: 1920x1080px 25 fps
Properties; Videoformat: HD 1080i 50 - 8 bit 4:2:2 YUV; Timecode ; Read from VITC (SMPTE 12M)

This works!! I can capture and playback.

But after about 5 seconds capturing I get the message. "Can't record video; try again with another kind of format (translate from Dutch)". Kinovea should than be restarted.
I tried different format, but that doesn't work.

Do I something wrong or do I have a solution.

Greetings Joop
