Hi Joan,

I have not reported in a while but wanted to give you an update. As far as the program goes it has work very well since the last update. I have not used it as much lately since we are in our off season for Baseball here. We will start practicing again soon so I will run it through its paces harder. When you get the update ready to test send it my way and I will run some of my old videos through it to see how everything goes.

I would love to see the drawings stay in the image as long as I would like. The feature you took off as far as copying a previous drawing to the current image would be nice if you could re add it.

Also the problem I was having with high def videos are the computer. I purchased a new laptop with a Pentium 2.0 GHz processor and 4 GB or ram and the videos work fairly smooth. They still only play at around 70 - 80% speed on there own, but they are not as jerky as before.

Also, I do not know if this is possible. When you save a key image to a PDF file is there a whay to set it up so I can have more than one image per page. Or is that a function I need to perform in Acrobat.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello,

The one PC is a celeron 2.6 GHz processor with 480 megs of ram Windows XP Home. The other is a 2.6 GHz with 896 megs of ram Windows XP media.

I kind of thought that was the problem, because I could tell the PC are really struggling. So you think I need to max out the ram on both PC's?

I bought that camera to eleminate the motion blur problem I was having. My other camcorder recordes at 60 frames per second and is not high def, but I get a lot of motion blur.

Cutting the video down is what I do, but it seems like I have to run the video through a couple times to make it scroll smoothly.

Which reminds me another feature that would be nice is the ability to trim down the video. What I mean is cut off some of the un-needed viewing area from the sides and just leave the area that focuses on the person you are filming.

Thanks,
Mike

I have been trying to monitor this problem as much as I can to give you all the info. I have another camcorder I recently bought. It shoots at 60 frames per second and saves the files with the .mov extension. When I playback these files everything moves in slow motion. I can watch the speed adustment setting slow down on its own until it reaches about 55%. Also if I scroll through the video it acts like the program really bogs down or struggles to replay the video. Even if I select a section of the video it really struggles to replay it. Now it seems if I let the video play through a couple times I can use the roller on my mouse an scroll through the video normally like there is nothing wrong.

Also for your information the camcorder is the Aiptek Action HD 1080p model.

Thanks,
Mike

I think it would be a very nice feature. I have looked at a large variety of compairable programs and for the most part the majority of them have this feature. I think for the serious instructor it is a must have, but for the novice coach it will be kind of a toss-up if they would use it. It depends on the market you are after with this program.

I would use the feature if it was added.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks,

You are right. I was using it wrong. That covers what I need as far as an angle measuring tool.

Mike

Thanks for your help

Hello,

My screen resolution on this PC is 1280 x 1024. I will have to check the other one. It is at a different location.

The movie is shot in wide screen format so I see black at the top and bottom.

If I double click on the line after I draw it it will jump to the left. I can then drag it back and it will stay. Anything I draw after that stays in place. Also they will appear on the image if I open it in another program after I drag it back before I save it.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello,

This problem recently started. I have the program downloaded on two PC's and the problem has recently began on both. When I draw a line or anything else and take a snapshot all looks well. But when I open the snapshot image in another program to lay it out for printing or just to view it the drawing has moved to a different location on the image.

Am I doing something wrong?

If you need examples let me know and I can send you a few images.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello,

We talked about a few of the features I would like to see added in a previous thread, but here it goes:

First I like the features you show in your video.

1. DV Capture, recording in live. Not as important to me
2. Sound playback. Important
3. Special effects for analysis. (Kinograms, superposition, motion extraction, etc) Important

4. Smoothed slow motion (image interpolation, needs .3) Important
5. Image stabilizer. Important
6. Image rotation. Important

7. External data overlayed on the image. (strength platform, pulse) Important
8. Specific functions for when the two videos are actually different views of the same scene. Not as important to me

9. Favorites folders, categories / search. Important
10. A System to index small sequences in a longer video. Important
11. A match sheet, or notes sheet, with customizable fields. Important

12. Drawings that persists over several frames.

I will add:

13. A way to measure an angle

14. Different choices for drawing tool. Circles, Squares, Line sizes, etc...

15. Zoom feature, but that may be what you are talking about when you say magnifier

16. A way to smooth out the motion blur.

THanks for the work you are putting into this program,
Mike

The file extenion JVC uses is .mod

Also is there a program you can recomend that will convert the file for me from interlaced to progressive? My camcorder does not have progrssive scan mode that I am aware of.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello,

Here is something I just came accross. I purchased a new camcorder today (JVC Everio GZ-MG330). It saves the files in a MPEG2 format. When I play them the motion is distorted. It may not be motion blur, the image looks like there is lines in it and it kind of breaks up. Not the whole image, for example if I am filming a bat swing the bat will look strage. Also I have to the open file section to find it, it does not show up in my video file section. If you need a file to see let me know and I will e-mail you an example.

Thanks,
Mike

One other thing I thought and maybe it is there but I have not found it, sound play back with your videos. Many time I mark a section in my video by telling my player to do a certain pitch so I can see how he was throwing it. It is tough to do without sound.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks,

The sticker pyle will work great. I assume we will be able to adjust the length like we do with the other lines? A multi-function circle tool would be good also. I am still playing around with the program. The more I use it the the more I like it. I will give you more feedback as I use it more. When do you think the next update may be out? And do you contact current members when you do an update? Is there anything else that you are working on for the program in the future?

Thanks,
Mike

First I would like to say this program is very nice and I will be willing to give you any feedback I can. One thing I would like to see is a circle tool and a way to make the lines I draw bolder. They are hard to see when I print the images. I am more than willing to beta test any new releases. I am a baseball coach in the US.
