Kinovea is a free and open source project and is comitted to respect your privacy.
Kinovea does not track users and does not collect personal data.
There is no business-model around Kinovea, the application is developed by volunteers and funded by donations.

Kinovea is free to be downloaded and used without registration.
No internet access is required to use Kinovea.
Schools, institutions or companies are allowed to distribute the Kinovea binaries to staff or students.
Kinovea does not use any user account, and does not collect any user data.
Kinovea does not automatically check for new versions and does not have an integrated update mechanism. You may manually check for new versions using the "Check for updates" command in the Help menu. This will download a small text file from kinovea.org with the latest version number and change log.
Kinovea does not collect telemetry and does not have an integrated crash reporting mechanism. Some personal information could be collected if you choose to share debug logs on the public forum or privately by email.
Some personal information may be contained in the annotation files you create. These stay on your computer and are not transmitted anywhere unless you choose to share them. The location of the annotation files on your file system is entirely under your control. Aside from the information you added yourself, the annotation files may contain the user name of your Windows account as part of the path to the video file the annotations were created for.
The Kinovea web site may use a cookie to manage registration and login to the discussion forum.
No user information is processed in any way other than being able to log in to the forum.
No user information is shared to any third party.
Google Analytics is not used on kinovea.org.
