The new quick picture insert and send function in 8.13 is great! Would it be possible to give the image a"persistence-setting" for insertion in a dynamic video?

Yes- that we be good for many likely usages where the comparision is of a particular part of a skill. The same would true if there could be persistence of a zoomed insert currently - setup - backswing with zoom of hands on handle - end of persistence for downswing then pause at key image with zoom insert of ball taking the edge - insert fades as clip follows backswing...

All new features working fine here W7(64bit)- look good and very useful - thanks!

Idiot proofing idea really - it's a nuisance when I've set up a sync on two images and I'm working through a sequence then use the left screen play button rather than the common control button (or vice versa if I've already paused the right hand screen and then use the common play button instead of left)
I think it would help if the common controls had a different coloured skin, specifically different coloured buttons - at present the left and common controls are identical and close so it makes it easy for me to get it wrong

Maybe a menu under Observational Reference, before the list of svg, "Import an image", that would allow one to directly overlay an image file (jpg, png, bmp). Maybe even import an .svg as a guide on the fly…

Either would be very user friendly and allow very useful feedback to the subject. It would certainly remove a layer of obstruction to the process

I see, I have the IT knowledge of a small mollusc and always thought that the 2Gb restriction was a function solely of the OS rather than the program too

Thanks

I'd agree - that would do exactly what you want and is very easy
Download Inkscape Page
I haven't used it much but it's intuitive and after a bit of practice I just created from a photo and put a still image onto a video as an observational reference *.svg in about 30 seconds

Been trying again with this - same problem with dual save and I seem to have lost the ability to save even normal video only files
Couple of buffer errors in the log.txt - added to 227 with more details
:-)

Logs added to 227
Lovely function - the short dual clip that worked looks great

Does seem file size (ie memory?) related - happening on Win7 64bit PC and 32bit laptop - won't save over a certain duration - a 17Mb edit saved OK as a dual screen, a one second longer edit crashes at 17.4Mb.
PC has done a few "Won't save - try a different format" glitches even saving a staight open (.mov) and close (.avi or .mkv)
?

Still got a problem with saving dual screen mode here on 0.8.12 I'm afraid.
I'm running two monitors so took the dialogue box right off onto the other screen
I used to get the read/write protected memory error, now I get different errors
Saving mkv I get "Parameter is not valid" then if I continue I get "Out of memory" then "Not enough storage"
Saving avi I get "Parameter is not valid" then if I continue I get "Out of Memory"
Don't know which memory it's looking at, I've got 840 Gb free on drive and 4GB RAM
I've saved each of the error logs - would you like them here or onto a new bug report?

Enjoying working with observational references and struck that I'm often adding the same phrases to a clip or to a still too - "Eyes over the ball" "Keep the bat straight" etc
It could be useful to have the same sort of functionality as an observational reference to repeat stock phrases by entering them once to a menu to recall next time. As with the .svg images they could then be shared as sport specific libraries...
Would that have a general role?

Mike

The replay speed variation and delayed captureare both great but are both a little fiddly/inconsistent with the slider bar. It works brilliantly for fine tuning but some speed presets could work well. Steps to each side maybe - half/quarter/eighth/16th speed and to 8x/4x/2x/ speed etc or individual speed buttons, or R click options. Similarly it could help in setting up a delay to skip to 2 secs/4 secs/8/15/30/60/120 delay as presets
Likewise in playback and in delay a shortcut to skip back and replay from 5 secs ago (?time set in preferences)would be a neat way to get that shot again with one click
Thoughts?

Mike

Hi, yes, you're right, Photoshop has a shift key modifier so that could be intuitive, uncluttered and familiar to many. I think that that would be a very good way to acces the function

Thanks

I often find it useful to have a single vertical or horizontal line - eyes level/eyes over the ball at contact/bat not vertical etc. The grid goes down to 2x2, the Observational Reference Hexaxial is great but they both still needs moving and scaling and obscure more than necessary. I've got a work around and have created .svg horizonal and vertical lines to insert - but it would still be very useful to be able to draw a single line that snaps to vertical or horizontal
Brilliant program!
