Hi,
That is strange. I just tried and it worked for me.
What is the version of OpenOffice or Excel that you are using ? I could only test with Office 2003 and OpenOffice 3.0 and 3.1.

Also, you can try to open the .xml (Excel) file in notepad and try to see if the coords are there.
The data will look mangled, but try to look for something like :
<Cell ss:StyleID="s24"><Data ss:Type="Number">-38.00</Data></Cell>

(bold is a coordinate)
If they are all zero here, then the issue is somewhere else…

Hi,

No codec should be needed, they won't be used anyway.
If the file is small enough, you could open a bug in the bug tracker and upload it along the bug report.

Also, to start the analysis, you (or other users if you upload the file) can try to read the file in VLC Media Player and/or MPlayer.
It helps figure out if the issue is in the FFMpeg library (shared among these softwares and Kinovea) or somewhere else.

Thank you

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

As you noted the stopwatch is currently a simple one. There has been suggestions to make it more powerful with the ability to record multiple times with the same stopwatch, but that would complexify the current tool too much I think. (Because such a basic tool should be as simple as possible…)

I guess changing the options to "start", "pause", "continue", may be considered… would that be explicit enough for every use ?

I think it would be good to have input from others users on this. Should the simple stopwatch stay as simple as it can be and a more powerful stopwatch made into a new tool, or should the enhanced stopwatch become the basic tool ?

Hi,

I'm not sure it's what you are looking for, but you can get the coordinates of the points of a trajectory by using the export to spreadsheet function, from the file menu.
Currently there is no way to get them directly from within the software, you have to export them.

I would also ideally like to be able to programatically plot points on images or on overlays of the images.

You could try to programmatically generate a .kva file and then import it. ("Load Key Images data…" menu)
.kva is the XML description of the key images and drawings. There is currently no shema or DTD, but you could set a few points and export them to see how the format works.

I am interested in knowing more about your workflow and what you are doing, picked my curiosity smile

Some have reported trouble with the wording "Seal measure". I agree it's not very clear… neutral

Please consider this as "Calibrate measure...". If you have an equivalent.
It is used to set the real world size of a line. (through right click)

Thanks !

Bonjour,

This is awesome !

One suggestion when you are two working on the same language: one could do the ScreenManagerLang strings (sheet 5/6), it has 277 strings in itself, and the other person would do all the other sheets (108 strings total).

Then after that you may swap your files to proofread one another if you want.
I think you can send simple mails through the user's profile here.

Thank you big_smile

Hi and thanks smile
For the manual there will probably be a separate round later, because right now even the english version needs to be updated…

Also, this thread is a good place for anyone of you that would have questions on specific terms, definitions, on the translation process etc.

We are getting closer to a formal release and I think the latest experimental releases are becoming more and more stable.

I'm not sure about what other features and fixes are going to be included into the next official release, but I can guarantee that there will not be any changes to the interface during the next 4 to 5 weeks. (because I'm on vacation big_smile)

This is a good time to update the localizations, and catch up with all the new strings added or modified since 0.7.10.

So, to all concerned : ding ding ding, feature freeze ! smile
If you want to start a language that is not in the list yet, you are more than welcome.

Please add your name stating which language you are starting to work on.
Note that some translations are already being worked on, or people already have expressed interest in working on them:
- Dutch, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish. (to be updated)
- Greek, Turkish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish. (starting from scratch)

I think it's best to have at most 1 or 2 people per language for the initial translation.
If someone is already working on the language you could do, ask if help is needed and we'll try to organize.

Here is a link to the wiki, please consult the articles about translation.

Thank you very much ! tongue

When I drag an icon for a video file in windows explorer, and drop it onto the kinovea shortcut on the desktop, the video explorer plane is what is displayed upon kinovea starting.

I just corrected this specific issue, it will be available in the next release. Not before end of january though.
Thanks.
