Hello, I recently purchased a gopro 7 and am wanting to record my my golf swing and view it in kinovea. I'm kind of a newbie with this type of software and these types of cameras. When I go to view the gopro file in kinovea it will not play. I tried converting the gopro file with HandBrake and it will play in kinovea but it is all jumpy and does not play at the 240fps that I had my gopro set to. So is there a cheap or free software that will easily convert my gopro file to be able to be viewed in kinovea or is there some setting i need to change in kinovea or gopro to be able to do this? Thanks

anyone able to help on this? I'm assuming I need a codec or something?

You don't need a codec, Kinovea uses an embedded codec library. What version of Kinovea are you using? Try with version 0.8.27 and see if it works. The newer GoPros use an encoding that didn't exist at the time of version 0.8.15.

Okay, glad to see this works. And if I got things right, older GoPro models should have compatible formats, right?
