With 2025.1 i have to set the capture folder for each camera every time i start recording. Is it possible to have the capture folder saved, at least for the session?

Previously Kinovea just saved the captured videos for both cameras in the same folder which was automatically selected. For me, this is preferred since i want to keep the recordings together anyway.

I use Kinovea for indoor golf practice. I use two cameras and record a couple of swings and then review them. So i am switching between camera record and video playback a lot so having to set the record folder each time is cumbersome.

Oh I see, you are using a single instance of Kinovea and alternating between a capture screen and a playback screen, correct?

It does save the capture folder, even between sessions, but when you open a new capture screen in the instance it starts from the default state (actually even this should work but I think it's because of opening a player screen in between that it lose the capture screen info).

The new workflow is that you would use a dedicated window for capture, and a different one for replay. Doing this it will remember everything, the camera, the capture folder, the position of the window, etc. It will be ready to go as soon as you start.

Same for the replay, the window will remember the observed folder, the playback speed, etc. Typically if you have two cameras and two replay you would have 3 windows, two capture and one dual replay. It's better to save to different directories otherwise the automatic replay can't tell which file to load. The replay window will also automatically bring itself to the foreground when it loads a new file.

Yes, i am using a single instance of Kinovea (one window) and alternating between capture and playback. Each time i re-enter capture mode (with two cameras) i have to reselect the capture folder.

Using two windows - one for capture and one for playback - retains the capture folder between recordings.

I tried again using a single session in order to determine if there was some specific action that caused the capture folder to be lost. Curiously, for awhile, the folder was being restored to the second defined camera folder when reentering capture mode. It was also restored between sessions (close and restart Kinovea). But after some activity, it reverted again to not saving the any capture folder.

I had originally defined two capture folders - one for "Cam1" and one for "Cam2" - both pointing to the same file system folder. I thought maybe there was some confusion having both kinovea capture folders point to the same place. So i deleted the folders and then create a single new folder entry which i use for both cameras. However, this didn't allow Kinovea to restore the capture folder.

I am ok with the 2 session workaround.
